Faith in Motion: Bringing Hope, Restoring Lives, Reaching Hard-to-Reach Communities

Reporter: Thomas, Country Director | Facilitators: Uhuji

This week, International Gospel Response Ministries (IGRM) continued its mission to bring spiritual renewal, practical support, and hope to refugees and host communities across Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kalobeyei Settlement, and nearby villages in northwestern Kenya.

Our team remained committed to reaching the most remote and underserved areas. While some activities were held in church buildings, many gatherings took place in open-air spaces due to the challenging living conditions, including the lack of church buildings or community centers for different activities.

🌟 Highlights & Community Impact

Seven Worship Services — Renewing Faith and Strengthening Hearts
Seven worship services united communities indoors and outdoors. Through heartfelt songs, personal testimonies, and prayers, participants were reminded that even amid displacement, Christ’s presence brings courage, peace, and renewed hope.

Seven Sunday School Classes — Growing Young Leaders
Seven Sunday school sessions engaged children through Bible stories, creative arts, and songs emphasizing faith, respect, and perseverance. Teachers focused on nurturing spiritual and moral foundations to prepare the next generation of community leaders.

Six Bible Study Groups — Multiplying Discipleship
Six Bible study groups gathered to explore Scripture, practice leadership skills, and mentor peers. Many participants have already begun forming new study circles, demonstrating how discipleship multiplies organically within communities.

Five Fellowship Gatherings — Strengthening Unity and Healing
Five fellowship meetings brought refugees and host families together through shared worship, storytelling, and collaborative activities. These gatherings strengthened social bonds, promoted emotional healing, and bridged cultural divides.

Three Life Skills & Empowerment Workshops — Equipping for Resilience
Three life skills workshops empowered women, youth, and caregivers with trauma recovery, family communication, and income-generating skills. Participants left encouraged, equipped, and ready to rebuild their lives with dignity and faith.

Two Community Meals & Children’s Outreach — Living Faith in Action
Two communal meals provided nourishment, joy, and fellowship. These gatherings were more than food—they were tangible expressions of Christ’s compassion and care for vulnerable families.
