Faith in Action: Inspiring Hope, Empowering Lives, and Strengthening Communities
Reporter: Thomas, Country Director | Facilitator: Uhuji
This week, International Gospel Response Ministries (IGRM) continued shining the light of Christ across Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kalobeyei Settlement, and surrounding host communities. Amid the challenges of displacement, scarcity, and uncertainty, dedicated believers embodied God’s love, offering spiritual guidance, practical support, and hope to those in need.

Weekly Highlights & Impact
Seven Worship Services — Anchored in God’s Presence
Seven uplifting worship services gathered hundreds of men, women, and children in open-air spaces and makeshift shelters. Participants experienced the power of communal prayer, songs of praise, and heartfelt testimonies. One attendee shared, “Even in the dust and heat, I feel God close when we sing together.” These services strengthened spiritual resilience, reminding all that God’s presence is never limited by circumstance.
Seven Sunday School Classes — Nurturing Faith from Childhood
Children’s laughter and curiosity filled classrooms and outdoor learning spaces as seven Sunday school sessions explored Bible stories highlighting love, kindness, and forgiveness. Creative storytelling, drama, and interactive activities reinforced values that shape character and decision-making. A child exclaimed, “I want to help my friends like Joseph helped his family!” Teachers also received new teaching aids to ensure engaging and impactful lessons that inspire both faith and life skills.
Four Bible Study Circles — Turning Faith into Action
Four Bible study circles convened in homes and open areas, focusing on James 2:17—“Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” Participants shared testimonies of helping neighbors, supporting the sick, and promoting peace. These gatherings bridged spiritual learning with practical action, empowering members to live out their faith authentically.
Three Fellowship Gatherings — Restoring Hope Through Connection
Three fellowship gatherings provided emotional and mental support for community members navigating stress, fear, and loneliness. Through shared stories, prayers, and songs of restoration, participants found safe spaces to heal and draw strength from one another. One youth attendee noted, “Here, I learn that hope is stronger than fear.”
Two Life Skills & Empowerment Sessions — Practical Tools for Resilience
Two interactive sessions equipped men and women with practical tools for entrepreneurship, conflict resolution, and household budgeting. Women explored small business opportunities, while men focused on family support and peacebuilding strategies. These workshops reinforced that resilience and self-reliance are integral parts of God’s vision for abundant life.
One Youth Forum — Cultivating Faithful Leaders
One youth forum united passionate young people eager to lead in their communities. Sessions focused on biblical leadership, social responsibility, and mentorship opportunities. Several youth signed up to participate in IGRM’s new guidance programs, aiming to inspire peers through faith-driven service, education, and community engagement.
Humanitarian Outreach — Meeting Needs, Inspiring Hope
IGRM volunteers reached vulnerable families, delivering food parcels and hygiene supplies while offering encouragement and prayer. One mother shared, “Your visit reminded me that God still sees us when the world forgets.” These acts of compassion reinforced dignity and hope, demonstrating that faith combined with action transforms both hearts and communities.
