Strengthening Faith and Resilience Among Refugee Communities

This week in Kenya and across the refugee camps, International Gospel Response Ministries (IGRM) witnessed powerful moments of spiritual renewal and humanitarian aid. Amid displacement and daily challenges, the Gospel and practical support continue to bring hope, healing, and resilience to refugees and host communities alike.

Key Highlights of the Week

🙏 16 Worship Gatherings Across Camps and Host Villages – Believers came together for worship, prayer, and encouragement, drawing strength from God’s Word in environments often marked by hardship.

👧 192 Children in Sunday School – Children eagerly joined in, learning about God’s love and discovering values that nurture both faith and future resilience.

👩 72 Women Empowered – Women gathered for encouragement, practical guidance, and spiritual renewal — finding dignity and courage to navigate everyday struggles.

🤱 42 Refugee Mothers Trained in Self-Reliance – Single and vulnerable mothers received resilience training that combined livelihood skills, trauma healing, and faith-based encouragement to sustain families with hope.

🤝 38 Widows Visited and Supported – Visits brought comfort, prayer, and humanitarian relief, assuring widows that they are not forgotten even in the most difficult situations.

📖 8 Bible Study Groups Established – Small gatherings grew into spaces of discipleship, equipping believers to lead, share the Gospel, and multiply hope within refugee and host communities.

🤗 6 Fellowship Services Held – Special gatherings helped strengthen unity, heal divisions, and remind everyone that the Gospel creates family where once there was only separation.

Why This Matters

In refugee contexts, the combination of evangelism and humanitarian aid is vital. Worship and Bible studies give spiritual courage; resilience and livelihood training give practical survival tools. Together, these ministries restore dignity, empower women, nurture children, and build future leaders in Christ.

Looking Ahead

We are committed to:
✅ Expanding refugee resilience programs for mothers and youth
✅ Establishing more Bible study groups to multiply discipleship
✅ Partnering with others to extend humanitarian aid and long-term hope

✨ Every prayer and donation matters. With your partnership, we are reaching more families, multiplying leaders, and bringing light to communities in the darkest valleys.

With gratitude,
Thomas
