Leadership & Skills Development
Purpose
To relieve poverty and empower widows, single mothers, orphans, and other marginalized community members by improving literacy, numeracy, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills. The program equips participants with practical tools for household management, small business initiatives, and personal growth.
Why This Matters
Many women and vulnerable adults in underserved communities face economic hardship, social isolation, and limited opportunities to develop practical and leadership skills. By offering structured training in literacy, numeracy, emotional care, and entrepreneurship, this program strengthens independence, confidence, and the ability to contribute positively to their families and communities.
What We Do
• Teach basic literacy and numeracy to improve daily functioning and self-sufficiency
• Provide leadership development and ethical decision-making training
• Offer emotional care and empowerment sessions to strengthen resilience
• Teach foundational entrepreneurship skills for small business and income generation
• Facilitate small-group skill-building that encourages peer support and cross-cultural interaction
Impact
Participants gain confidence, practical skills, and the ability to manage households and small businesses. Many women report improved decision-making, leadership, and independence.
“Through this program, I learned how to manage my small business and care for my family with confidence,” shared a participant from Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya. “I now feel empowered to support others in my community.” Similar transformation is observed among participants in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
